Nasty new Covid variant newly discovered in South Africa. It could escape vaccines and antiviral mAbs entirely. Lenz is variant agnostic because it isn't an antiviral. This has as many mutations as the worst of the WNY sequences from NYC's sewers.

And that one was actually tested for neutralization and did show complete total escape against all three class of RBD antibodies, it wasn't just a guess.

This is bye-bye-vaccine-level bad.

This looks basically like SARS-CoV-3.

With zero cross-neutralization, is this even directly competing with Delta rather than being a new virus?

And they just posted 10 new such sequences, all from Gauteng, where the fourth wave is starting...
